better than never

today i'm listening to: marching bands in manhattan - death cab for cutie

if i could open my mouth
wide enough for a marching band to march out
they would make your name sing
and bend through alleys and bounce off all the buildings

and.
this video can make me smile, even on the rainiest days...

she pours a daydream in a cup,
a spoon of sugar sweetens up

"none but ourselves can free our minds"
-bob marley

yes. and yes.

muchos.

but please -- note the author's name. delish.

on clear nights (let's face it, there aren't many here)

i have a great view of the moon.

i like to watch it swim across the sky and often i wonder:

how many others are looking at it too.

it makes my world seem smaller.

"loneliness is this funny little game that i like to play when i'm all by myself."

but i'm still ready to take on the world.

"The only man who behaved sensibly was my tailor; he took my measurement anew every time he saw me, while all the rest went on with their old measurements

and expected them to fit me." -George Bernard Shaw

soooooo finally-

i've come out of hiding...

sorry i haven't written all week, i've been busy falling off the face of the earth...
i've been running around my head. sometimes you just gotta know when to hold em' and when to fold em'

this coming from a girl who has to play poker in "teams,"
and seldom can work a p-p-p-poker face.

"how did you get this far?"

"one day i decided to rule the world."
i disco.

"we do not have to visit a madhouse to find disordered minds; our planet is the mental institution of the universe"
-johann wolfgang con goethe

"One of the advantages of being d i s o r d e r l y is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries." -a.a.milne

you got that right...

"just remember,
the same as a spectacular Vogue magazine,
remember that no matter how close you follow the jumps: continued on page whatever.
no matter how careful you are,
there's going to be the sense you missed something,
the collapsed feeling under your skin
that you didn't experience it all.
there's that fallen heart feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should've been paying attention.
well, get used to that feeling.
that's how your whole life will feel some day.
this is all practice.
none of this matters.
we're just warming up."

i'm off to float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, and swear like a sailor.

black white and read.

today i'm listening to: soldier on - the temper trap
no video friends. but a good listen nonetheless..
especially those last 2 minutes

delish

still a bit confused in my life,
and i've been letting it get to me. (major)

just a thought:
when you feel like
you just keep failing at life,
consider perhaps that
you're living the wrong one.

but after having alovely life conversation
under blue skies with a good lady friend,
i have a whole different perspective.
and
life = perspective
right?
we talked about all the plans we'd had for life
10 years ago, 5 years ago
& where we thought we'd be right now...
i realized that if my life went according to plan,
things would be different
different as in a
complete
and total
(nightmare)
i would have missed out on so, so much.
so instead of stressing over the unknown
and making too many life plans
or relying on too many life plans
i've decided to
walk into the unknown with reckless abandon
(and effing laugh more.)

life in technicolor

today i'm listening to: the whip - locksley
life is better in color... i'd say these guys agree.
for reasons unknown... i really love this video.
especially the
first 15 seconds.

let's re-enact it, kay

soooooo this crazy art directing team,
abel minnee and bonne reijn,
shot this magical photoshoot using an aura camera.
it captures the invisible colors around the models
using sensors the models hold in their hands.
same camera.
same sensors.
the only thing that changed was the models.
and my how the colors changed!

what intricacies of the universe will we stumble upon next?

here is the shoot:

geez, louise.
that is funky lovely.

and i'm ready for the move-makers
to make. them. moves!
(or both works great too)

luckily,
dad had some good life words today:
"be patient. and positive."

on that note,
color is making me happy today
so
let's get technicolor
for a hot second:

take me here. carlsbad, CA

and for kicks, here's a horse of a different color:

and a horse that made me laugh:

and LORD KNOWS i'd learn to ride a bike
if i had a bicycle like this!!!!

did i say... learn to ride a bike? ...yeahhhhh
so until then-

real riches cannot.
in your soul are infinitely precious things
that cannot be taken from you." -oscar wilde
